How do I register my CV?

Fill in the CV registration form and upload the latest version of your CV.

Which file type's do you accept?

We accept all of the following files: .doc .docx .rtf .txt .pdf .wps and .odt.

Can I remove my CV?

Yes, once you've found your ideal job you may wish to remove you CV.

To do this you must access your account from a computer or laptop. Log into your account, access your settings and click 'Delete my account' at the bottom of the page.

Please note: When you delete your CV your profile is also removed.

I live outside of the UK. Can I still register my CV on Scotland Jobs?

Scotland Jobs accepts all registrations from the UK, EU and EEA.

I tried to register my CV but it says I've already registered. What should I do?

If your email address is already registered with Scotland Jobs, request your password and log in to your profile. You may have registered via one of our other job sites or registered a long time ago and forgotten. If you are still having problems logging in, contact us directly.

How do I search for jobs on Scotland Jobs?

From the homepage you can complete the quick search. Simply fill in the job details you are looking for: keywords, industry and location. If you want to supply more details click advanced job search, and enter your desired contract type and salary.

Alternatively, you can log in to your candidate profile and search for jobs from there. You will then be able to save job vacancies and apply for them later.

We recommend setting up Jobs by Email as well as job searching. Then you will have the latest jobs matching your criteria emailed straight to your inbox.

Can I save jobs I am interested in?

Yes, as long as you are logged in to your candidate profile you can save jobs and view them at a later date. To view saved jobs log in to your candidate profile then click 'saved jobs' under 'my account options'.

I've found an inappropriate job on Scotland Jobs. Who should I contact?

Please contact us via the contact page. We will double check the vacancy and remove it immediately if it is inappropriate. We endeavour to only allow database access to recruiters genuinely looking for candidates.

Can I apply for jobs on Scotland Jobs?

Yes, registered candidates can apply directly to all jobs listed on the Scotland Jobs site. If you are a registered candidate your CV will already be uploaded, so all you need to add is a cover letter before you submit your application.

Please note: Use the contact details listed with the job, do not phone Scotland Jobs to make an application.

Can I apply for a job without registering my CV?

No. In order to apply for a job through Scotland Jobs you must register your CV.

I can't remember which jobs I've applied for. How do I find out?

Log in to your candidate profile and click 'Job applications'.

You may find that the job post has expired and the application you made does not show to you right away.

In order to show expired applications, please ensure you untick the box that reads 'Hide Expired Applications' in the top right hand corner of the page.

Can I track my job applications?

Once you have applied to a job you will receive an automatic email from Scotland Jobs confirming that you have made an application.

If you haven't received any email confirmations or you are unsure that your application was received, please contact the recruiter directly or reapply if necessary.

I have a question about a job vacancy. Who should I contact?

Please contact the recruiter directly. Scotland Jobs has no further information about any of the jobs advertised on the site. The recruiter's contact details can be found at the bottom of the full job description or on their company profile.

How do I modify or update my CV?

To modify your CV, you will need to modify the original document that you uploaded. Once you have made the necessary changes, re-upload the updated document to your account.

We do not offer the function to edit your CV on the site.

To upload a new CV document, log into your account and click 'Modify CV'.

How do I change my password?

When logged into your account, hover over your name in the top right hand corner of the screen. From the drop down that appears, select 'change password'. Alternatively, you can send yourself a password reset link here

How do I set up Job Alerts?

Log in to your Scotland Jobs account and go to 'Job Alerts'. Click 'create new alert', specify your search criteria and save your alert. We will then send you an email each day if there a job matches.

How do I change my Job Alerts?

Log in to your Scotland Jobs account and go to 'Job Alerts'. Click 'modify alert' on the one you want to change.

I have forgotten my password. What do I do?
