The food and beverage management team orchestrates the magic of the guest dining experience by leading a team of passionate individuals. Our goal is to create an ambience where locals and visitors feel at home, and we always have something up our sleeve to impress. At Virgin Hotels nothing is ever "usual" so the Assistant Restaurant Manager not only has to be willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done, but have to be willing to have fun. 

The Nitty-Gritty:

What exactly you will be doing…

  • You are responsible for detailing and confirming guest profiles and communicating that to FOH and BOH. You handle guest issues directly, with confidence and achieve positive results
  • Communication to the kitchen, other outlets and front desk about food issues, VIPs, reservations and changes in business levels
  • Communication to teammates: same as above, guest expectations, changes in food or drink menus, special events/programming. To be achieved by a per shift team meeting as well as a post-shift re-cap
  • Handling daily tasks of scheduling, properly having people in the right place at the right time and driving revenue
  • Training of Teammates: assist in the organisation of onboarding and delivering consistent training. Making sure the new members are correctly inputted into the system and have all the tools, uniforms and supplies to have a positive training experience
  • Other Responsibilities: The main priority is the guest experience, monitoring the floor, training and consistent leadership. However, there is still work to be done. The Assistant Restaurant Manager must ensure schedules are completed to balance needs of business and labor profits. Inventory controls, P&L knowledge, waste of product, china, glass, equipment, etc must be monitored daily. All human resource aspects must be completed according to protocol.

Background must-have:

  • Current right to work in the UK
  • Preferred: 1-2 years’ experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge in a hotel supervisor position/management position.
  • Proficient computer knowledge.
  • WSET Level 2, 3 or 4 (Preferred)
