Your dream role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team and help us to support Operations, Commercial and Engineering with product quality.

 

Duties and responsibilities in detail:

  • Lead qualification of all new ADL suppliers within a specific region and ensure periodic re-certification as required. Maintain an up to date ASL.
  • Following new supplier acceptance, agree required PPAP level on selected products and take initial PPAP to conclusion utilizing the AD Workbook
  • Previous experience of operating APQP would be advantageous.
  • In Line with All NPD projects and Group Procurement cost down activities develop and implement a supplier audit schedule and travel to Suppliers to complete audits.
  • Evaluate and improve supplier quality management systems and procedures with new suppliers to ensure supplied quality consistently meets expectations and where required feed into the audit schedule.
  • Develop and implement continuous supplier audit schedule supporting Group Procurement cost down objectives.
  • Set individual supplier quality improvement targets and manage performance.
  • Lead crisis-management of all major supplier related in-service and in-factory quality incidents. Be able to respond quickly to field or site escalation and implement emergency supplier containment measures as required.
  • Work Closely with AD Reliability and support where required reliability failure investigation with Suppliers, driving to root cause preventive action and possible service rectification plan (Campaign)
  • Prepare Supplier Quality and reliability performance data for Supplier QBR / ASR meetings and follow up on output actions.
  • Where required, work with AD cross functional teams and suppliers on alternative specification product selection, testing and implementation, to ensure it meets AD quality requirements.
  • Lead all RCCA and continuous improvement activities with new and problematic suppliers.
  • Ensure prevention of repeat defects through promotion and utilization of 8D methodology
  • Assess and improve supplier process capability.
  • Develop and publish supplier performance reports and metrics via QlikView.

What you will bring:

  • HND/Degree in mechanical, Electrical, or quality engineering
  • QA audit/engineering experience in automotive environment
  • Understanding of key quality standards ISO9001, IATF 16949 etc.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality management systems and procedures – SPC, RCCA, PPAP, 8D, 5S, 6-sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA etc.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Report writing skills.
