Job Title: Technical Support Engineer (Site)
Job Location: Inverness - Site Office / Site Based

Roles / Job Purpose
- To successfully contribute to an efficient, cost effective and customer focused service by ensuring that the services supplied by the Company comply with legislation and client specification.
- To contribute technical solutions, in a successful and profitable manner, to all tasks in your area of responsibility.
- To ensure the welfare and safety of all employees and sub-contractor staff working on their projects.
- To make sure that all contract work is carried out in full compliance with health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations while working to maximise the profitability of each contract under their control and ensuring the satisfaction of all contractual requirements.
- To ensure compliance with the Company Standards of Service and quality systems and to meet the requirements of the company business plan(s).

Reporting Relationships
- Responsible to: Senior Technical Engineer
- Reporting Relationships; Directly reports to Senior Technical Engineer. Formal relationships with all Directors, Contracts Manager, Engineering Manager, Ganger/Foreman, Site Engineers, Plant Manager, Work Planners and all other managers and employees

Key Tasks

Health & Safety
- Compliance with the company’s H&S management systems; including the policy statement, organisation, arrangements and individual responsibilities.
- Responsible for the significant workplace hazards and the generic risk assessments and risk control measures relevant to the areas of responsibility.
- Taking full ownership of H&S matters in the area of responsibility.
- An awareness of the Company’s H&S targets and objectives and ensuring that work is carried out in harmony with and in pursuance of these.
- An awareness of H&S legislation and best practice as it relates to company and individual responsibilities and duties.
- Ensuring the accurate reporting of any work related accidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health or near miss incidents to the relevant Manager.
- Reporting any known or suspected defects or failings in the OH&S Management System to the relevant Manager without delay.

Environmental 
- Responsibility for, and compliance with, the company’s environmental policies, main 
aspects, impacts and work procedures.
- An awareness of: The company’s Emergency Plan, Pollution Incident Response Plans and general pollution preventions and control requirements. Environmental Legislation and best practice as it relates to company and 
individual responsibilities and duties. The Company’s environmental targets and objectives and ensuring that work is carried out in harmony with, and in pursuance of, these.
- Adoption of recycling and energy saving initiatives within your own working environment.
- Adopting an environmentally responsible attitude to company business and ensuring the accurate reporting of any environmental incidents or near miss incidents.

Quality 
- Awareness of, and compliance with, the company's quality management system; including Quality policies, main aspects, impacts and procedures.
- Ensuring that you and any member of your team take ownership of quality matters. 
- Awareness of the company’s quality objectives and targets and ensuring that work is carried in harmony with and in pursuance of them. 
- Ensuring that all work is undertaken in a quality manner. This means doing a task right, first time, thus creating a culture of efficiency and effectiveness. 
- Reporting any known or suspected failing or defects in the quality management system to the HSEQ Manager, without delay.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintaining and monitor project social media and web site project information including obtaining approvals to release.
- Liaise with local authority officials, members of the public and other stakeholders during the progress of the works and report findings to the relevant manager.
- Prepare, file and record drawings for business and site needs
- Support the Senior Technical Engineer Technical Director Engineering Manager and 
Site Teams
- Provide support during selection of techniques, procedures and methods to undertake engineering tasks
- Assist with preparing project specific RAMS & CPP’s
- Compile project specific existing utility drawings
- Assist with compiling and maintaining RFI Schedules
- Assist with compiling Health and Safety File documentation (As-Built File)
- Use oral and written methods effectively for the communication of technical and other information to supervisors, site teams and other 3rd parties
- Receiving and assessing design changes from the client and communicating to site 
supervisors and teams
- Attend site design, review and progress meetings
- Take minutes of site meetings
- Assist with agreement of variations by recording and reporting on site information
- Attend training for the upkeep of professional competencies

Training
- You will attend any training courses that are deemed to be necessary to ensure that you work safely and remain competent in the performance of your duties.

Qualifications/Experience for the role

Qualifications
Essential - CSCS Card - Driving Licence - Previous experience 

Desirable - Proficiency in AutoCAD - Experience in the use of AutoCAD - First Aid - SMSTS - Experience of CDM Regulations - Temporary Works Co-ordinator 

Experience/Knowledge
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good team management 
- Minimum 5 years Site experience in civil works
 - Results orientated
 - Good problem solving skills
- Ability to:
• develop new skills.
• work on own initiative
• meet financial and company deadlines.
• work as part of a team.
• Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 
9001, 4001 & 45001
- General IT literacy.
