H&MV Engineering are seeking a reliable and versatile General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks including general site maintenance, environmental control measures, operating machinery such as wheel washers, as well as performing duties as a storeman and gateman as needed. This role requires someone with a proactive attitude, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general site maintenance tasks to ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization.
• Implement and maintain environmental control measures in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Operate machinery such as wheel washers efficiently and safely, adhering to all operational guidelines and safety procedures.
• Assist with inventory management and stock control as a storeman, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials and supplies.
• Fulfill gateman duties by monitoring and controlling access to the site, checking vehicles in and out, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Support other team members as needed and collaborate effectively to complete tasks on schedule.
• Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to report any issues or concerns promptly.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role or in construction/general labor preferred.
• Ability to operate machinery safely and effectively; experience with wheel washers or similar equipment is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of inventory management principles and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the work site.
