Our client is a successful and well-established engineering firm and leading specialist in the design and manufacture of hydraulic engineering solutions. The company is looking to recruit a skilled and qualified Design Draftsperson to add to their small drawing office team, based just south of Aberdeen City Centre. This is a great opportunity for a skilled professional to join a forward-thinking business, specialising in the design and manufacture of high quality hydraulic and mechanical engineered solutions for several industry sectors, including Oil & Gas, and Whisky.
 
JOB ROLE:
  • Reporting to and assisting the Drawing Office Manager, you would be tasked with performing all duties associated with product design from scratch, as well as improvements and upgrades to existing equipment, while following drawing office standards and procedures. The company uses Solidworks and good experience of this is essential.
  • This role requires a Senior Engineer with a strong design and drafting background. The successful applicant will be involved with design, manufacture and testing, working across all departments to enhance the range of products and services the company provides.
  • The role also includes selecting and checking materials, preparation of manufacturing packages and work orders. The busy Drawing Office is the hub of the business, providing assembly and test procedures and manufacturing support to the workshop, preparation of operating/maintenance manuals and technical support to customers.
 
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • 10 Years drawing office experience with 3D design, preferably in a manufacturing organisation.
  • Preferable engineering qualification such as HND or Degree.
  • Good experience in use of Solidworks.
  • Familiar with simple load and stress calculations.
  • Good understanding of mechanical/ hydraulic engineering and machine shop manufacturing processes methodical in approach and accurate.
  • Motivated and flexible, punctual & reliable and able to manage time in accordance with meeting customer deadlines.
  • Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK.
