Established independent provider of corporate travel, group travel, conference and events are seeking a bright, articulate individual who has experience within the Travel Industry or Hospitality industry to train on a support role for their groups, conference and events team. This is a great chance for you to use your fantastic communication and customer service skills, as well as administrative and computer skills to be trained as a Groups Consultant within conference and events. Starting salary is dependent on experience but in the region of £24k pa - £27k pa and this is a Monday to Friday role, no weekends!!! Fully office based in Glasgow, you will be working with a fun, small team, learning the ropes from your peers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Support a small of experienced Groups Consultants who put together all the travel, conference & events needs for corporate groups!
• Dealing with clients and suppliers over the phone and via email
• Learning in house systems and GDS to help book venues, hotels and travel for conference and events.
• Liaising with hotels and venues, confirming names, special requests etc
• Ensuring accurate details are input onto systems.
• General administrative support

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
This is a great opportunity for a Travel Consultant who is keen to do something different and move from leisure travel into Conference, Events, Groups and the world of corporate travel. You will ideally have at least 18 months in a travel or hospitality related role (perhaps you have worked in hotel reservations and dealt with organising some conferences or events for businesses). It is desirable though not essential that you are a graduate. You will have a bright personality, enthusiastic, articulate and willing to learn. You will have a good level of IT skills to pick up new systems and you will thrive in a small team, office-based environment.

THE PACKAGE:

Starting salary will be dependent on experience and interview but is in the region of £24k pa - £27k pa, and additional benefits will be discussed at interview, but this is a rare opportunity to spring board into a career into group travel, business travel, conference and events!
