Astute's Renewable Energy team is partnering with an established circular economy company, with over 10 years of experience in anaerobic digestion, who are currently looking for an Operations Technician to work operate their facility near Girvan.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Process Leader you will:

  • Be responsible for carrying maintenance routines, planned inspections and testing.
  • Operate the facility on a day-to-day basis.
  • Doing daily, weekly, and monthly checks along with some PPM schedules and learning more and more about how to do the maintenance in house.
  • Ensure all processes are carried out to the correct standards and all the relevant documentation is completed.
  • Feeding the facility using mobile plant.
  • Keep the computerised maintenance management system accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain the correct operational performance of the plant.
  • Be proactive in identifying potential hazards and safety issues on site.
  • Other duties as required.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • HNC/ HND/ Degree in Engineering Practice/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
  • IOSH/ECITB/Telehandler/Forklift training (Desirable).
  • Valid driving licence.



Personal skills

The Shift Operations Technician role would suit someone who is:

  • Ideally, 2 years maintenance experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience working in a similar environment such as plant/industrial.
  • Experience maintaining, calibrating, and commissioning process instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature measurement) is preferred.
  • Strong team ethic with integrity, honesty, and a natural attention to detail
  • Willingness to go above and beyond, a 'can-do' attitude.
  • An ability to problem-solve, and more importantly to pro-actively problem solve at times without guidance.
  • Ability to work off own initiative, multi-task, and work at a fast pace.
