Senior Authorised Person (contract – outside IR35)
6-month contract
Home based initially for 1 month then site based thereafter (Scotland)
Our client will have had installed four synchronous condensers in two projects (North Scotland and Glasgow) with two HV substations of 275kV and 400kV connected into TO substations in order to stabilise new power entering the Scottish grid. We are recruiting a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) (HV) in order to:
- Coordinate the new HV substation connection to the TO network with client and TO.
- Act as the SAP of the plant during commissioning process.
- Work and apply safe systems of work.
- Apply private company safety rules, issue permit to work and sanction for test.
- Check and commission HV Switchgear and deliver all fault responses with a solution for commissioning.
Qualifications/Experience:
- SAP(HV) to have several years in commissioning of HV assets and transmission and distribution projects.
- Voltage from LV going up to 400kV where you will be a part of a focused team committed to the efficient commissioning and operation of electricity distribution networks.
- No specific DNO/TO authorisation requirement needed. Experience with SSE and SP preferable.
You will manage the inspection of their assets pre and post commissioning and review pre-construction activities to ensure that safe and compliant networks are delivered. Ensure that all activity is safe, competent and accredited and regularly audited against the company’s Policy and Procedures.
Our client will consider sole Limited Companies (outside IR35) as well as self-employed CIS and on a PAYE basis via our Employment Business.
