Are you an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer seeking a new opportunity?

Our client, a well-established contractor based in Central Scotland, specialises in geotechnical investigations, drilling, and blasting, are currently expanding their team and are in search of a skilled Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to projects across the UK.

As a leading ground engineering contractor, they focus on a diverse range of projects, including residential developments, hospitals, commercial ventures, and civil works for roads, railways, tunnels, walkways, and embankments.

As an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a vital role in the team, with responsibilities including:

  • Assisting in planning and executing ground investigations.
  • Conducting surveying and setting out activities.
  • Implementing strategies in coordination with management.
  • Preparing design calculations, drawings, technical documents, and project reports while ensuring compliance with current standards.
  • Verifying the accuracy of plans, drawings, and quantities.
  • Conducting inspection work, feasibility studies, report preparation, and cost estimating.
  • Contributing to the management and monitoring of project budgets.
  • Upholding company quality procedures.
  • Striving to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Supporting the team with additional site engineering duties as required.
  • Assisting in the preparation of bids and delivery of services on other contracts when needed.
  • Responding to queries and liaising with clients, third parties, and other stakeholder groups.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate civil engineering qualification (HND/C or Degree).
  • Previous experience as a Geotechnical Engineer with a civil engineering contractor on groundwork projects is desirable.
  • Experience in surveying and setting out for groundworks projects is desireable.
  • Familiarity with anchoring processes.
  • CAD or ground modelling knowledge is desirable.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Full UK driving license.
