Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Salary/Rate:
£28,000 - £35,000/annum + car allowance + package



We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established and family-owned housebuilder with over 40 years experience in the housing sector.  The successful candidate will work alongside the commercial manager to ensure the smooth running of our projects.




Responsibilities:




- Assisting in the preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of work, and tender documents


- Measuring and pricing variations, preparing valuations, and submitting claims for payment


- Assisting with the preparation of cost reports and cost plans


- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other professionals on commercial matters


- Assisting in the preparation of contract documents and contract administration


- Assisting in the preparation of final accounts and settlements




Requirements:




- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent


- Ideally a background in housebuilding and groundworks (not essential)


- Knowledge of bills of quantities and measurement principles


- Excellent communication and negotiation skills


- Ability to work well in a team


- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
