Lead Electrical Engineer
£46,000 Basic, 25 Days Holiday + Overtime + Progression 

A large, well established facilities organisation are currently recruiting a lead electrical engineer to work at a state of the art, aerospace manufacturing plant based in Edinburgh. 

  • Oversees and/or coordinates maintenance/repair work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial work, etc. including any administration to support.
  • Responds to client enquires and complaints. Ensures timely and quality service delivery to clients.  Follows up with clients to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Performs facilities inspections and prepares reports as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative, Clients Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements at site(s).
  • Provide technical first line support / first line fix to any facilities issues raised on all hard service systems
  • Co-ordinate with operations team and third-party suppliers to deliver service level agreements
  • Support/Monitor 3rd party maintenance supplier activities when required and report any corrective works arising
  • Work with local/central/third party project manager(s) to ensure fully integrated FM/projects delivery and, where requested, provide technical support for projects and assist with commissioning and hand over works for plant and user equipment.
  • Manages vendor relationships and trains vendors on work order and billing procedures. Processes invoices and ensures proper cost center coding.
  • Obtains and reviews price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for small works projects.
  • Report all accidents, occupational illnesses, and emergencies in relevant books/documentation and completes associated admin tasks.
  • Ensure all contractors, under sphere of control, operate within appropriate QHSE processes and client HSE standards
  • Completion of all PPM’s on a variety of equipment/services
  • To adhere to the Maintenance Management system in all engineering practices, including planned and reactive tasks, to meet and exceed the expectations of GRP, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Accountable for ensuring that planned maintenance activities are carried out, in compliance with the tasks as set out and Site SOPs, Processes, and any adopted procedures.
  • Maintenance of plant and utilities to ensure appropriate and correct operation, to operate within specification while ensuring that records are maintained efficiently and reliably as required by Operational, Regulatory and Statutory practice.
  • Provide completion paperwork/certification for works completed.
  • Performance of PA Testing where required
  • Undertake any other engineering tasks as required by the Coordinator or Line Manager.
  • Basic handyman skills i.e. small fabric repairs and small painting touch-ups etc
  • Management of all contractors on-site including preparation / completion of all paperwork associated, in line with QHSE processes.
  • Close liaison with Central support team to promote a consistent professional image.
  • In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined
  • Carryout all works in an appropriately health and safety conscious manner following material safety instructions and using, permits to work, risk assessments, method statements where appropriate to do this.
  • Weekend, out of hours & Bank holiday working as required.
