We are an agency recruiting for the most prestigious motoring organisation in the UK. They are looking to increase their fleet of roadside patrol vans and are looking for skilled, friendly and helpful people to join their hardworking team.

Job Title: Roadside Mechanic

Locations Available: Based from home in any Inverness (IV) postcode

Salary: Basic £34500 + Location Allowance + Overtime and Bonuses

OTE Package: £54,000

Can earn up to: £60,000

Job-Type: Full-Time, permanent

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Roadside Mechanic to join this prestigious motoring organisation based from home across Inverness and surrounding areas.

As a Roadside Mechanic your main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
  • Diagnosing and repairing Electrical faults
  • Towing broken down vehicles from the roadside to a designated drop off point using the onboard towing equipment

To be considered for the role you must be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative. The company are especially interested speaking to candidates with at least 3 years driving experience. In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential:

  • Prefer NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent but will accept NVQ 2 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent with significant garage experience
  • Recent hands-on garage, workshop or mobile mechanics experience (within the past 5 years)
  • Full category B or above driving licence with a maximum of 6 points for minor endorsements and no outstanding DD, DR or CD penalties
  • Able to use diagnostic equipment
  • Familiar with electrical, fuel and ignition systems of vehicles (Electric and Hybrid training available)
  • Confident and personable when talking to customers
  • Willing to work by the roadside in all weather conditions
  • Empathetic and appreciative of the stressful situation that customers can find themselves in.

Additional Information

Shift Pattern: To be confirmed. It will include day, late and night working as well as weekend and Bank Holiday working as part of a rolling roster.

Hours: average shift length is 9 hours per day plus end-of-shift overtime as required by the business

Overtime and Stand-By Hours: enhanced pay available for worked overtime and stand-by hours
