Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
My client are changemakers and accelerators. With a proud history of delivering complex projects to the oil and gas industry.
Their team in Aberdeen provide front-end studies, engineering, procurement and project management services for initiating and executing oil and gas field, HVDC, renewable energy and carbon capture developments.
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to strengthen the team.
What will you be doing?
  • Support the implementation of an Integrity Risk Management Process, aligned to the client risk management process
  • Develop the technical content of the SOIRs or equivalent for appropriate pressure systems or equipment for approval by the Senior Integrity Engineer to ensure they are delivered in accordance with the plan
  • Review inspection reports in order to instigate remedial action for any non-compliance, if applicable.  Validate the recommendations from the report.
  • Maintain registers for SCAB, P3, deadleg, trunnion, CUI, BOLL, FM etc
  • Responsible for FM program – assessing priority through to raising the WO for the FM to be carried out.  Communicating with the FM team if there are any changes or revisions that need to be made to the scope of work
  • Support deferrals, accompanied by full technical justification and recommended mitigation
  • Technical input to failure investigations and failure mechanism identification
 We think you should have:
  • Degree level in Engineering Discipline
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Conversant with appropriate technical software
  • experience in material degradation and failure mechanisms
  • experience in fitness for service assessment (Levels 1 & 2)
  • experience in Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII)
  • Must be a ‘team player’
