Site Engineer – The Role

To assist the contracts management team with site activities and management systems, and provide engineering support as required.

•    Carry out pre-contract site surveys
•    Carry out site inductions and TBTs when required
•    Create and deliver task briefs with site personnel
•    Understand and ensure compliance with the scope of work to be carried out
•    Create and issue fortnightly works programme to site team
•    Assist with applications for payment
•    Ensure quality of workmanship is in compliance with the Specification, and completed in accordance with the contract programme
•    Management of the project Quality Plan and maintenance of quality assurance records
•    Follow the site quality plan and keep records as required
•    Conduct site testing of materials
•    Ordering of Plant & Materials
•    Keep detailed site administration records, e.g., Site Diaries, Plant & Labour Returns
•    Manage on-site subcontractors, labour requirements & allocation of resources in close liaison with the Site Manager
•    Complete health & safety, quality & non-conformance site audit forms when required
•    Accompany H&S Advisors on all site visits and undertake corrective action required
•    Ensure that the site is managed in accordance with the form of contract
•    Escort site visitors when required
•    Attend site management & Client meetings as required
•    Collaborate with stakeholders including clients & the supply chain, to keep abreast of innovation and infrastructure requirements
•    Working in close liaison with the contracts management team to drive and develop the working relationships between the stakeholders, including clients, supply chain & colleagues
•    Assist HR & Training departments with onboarding, performance management & development of operatives
•    Promote & encourage innovation and value
•    Motivating, coaching, encouraging, supporting, & providing guidance to operatives
•    Ensuring professionalism, integrity, and quality is maintained throughout all activities
•    Contribute to our uncompromising health & safety for all mission by ensuring company SHEQ, and all other procedures are followed

•    Assist with and promote our mission of providing a safe and caring workplace
•    Any other duties as reasonably required

Site Engineer – What we need from you:

•    Knowledge of basic engineering principles & CDM Regulations
•    Understanding of different methods of measurement e.g., CRAMM, Highways etc.
•    Some knowledge of current contract forms, acts & legislation (NEC / JCT) etc.
•    CSCS Card
•    Relevant Degree / Higher, advanced or foundation qualification
•    Ambition to work towards Professional Accreditation relevant to the role
•    Full UK Driver’s Licence
•    Significant experience within the Construction Industry in a similar role
•    Accurate record keeping
•    Strong organisational, written & verbal reporting and numerical skills
•    Fully conversant with modern office equipment and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
•    Planning & programming
•    A keen attention to detail whilst being able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
•    Collaborative approach to communication with Client / Supply Chain & Colleagues
•    Ability to manage & mentor site operatives
