Our client, a leading provider of general contracting, fit-out, M&E , design, and manufacturing services, is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their dynamic team.

Job Description:

As the Estimator, you will be responsible for calculating construction cost estimates, for main contractor and Joinery Packages with project values from £100k to £15 million.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labour for construction projects.
  • Generating precise Schedule of Works based on drawings and specifications.
  • Reviewing construction documents and analysing specifications.
  • Creating estimates for project planning, organization, and scheduling using fundamental principles.
  • Developing estimates to align with project objectives, including setting work hours, task sequencing, procurement of materials, and negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring timely submission of relevant documents and budgets before bid deadlines.
  • Providing regular project status updates to Management and clients.
  • Formulating contingency plans and managing risks affecting cost and time estimates.
  • Staying updated on the latest estimating technology and industry techniques.
  • Collaborating with other teams, conducting site visits, and supporting bid deliveries as needed.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification (preferably at degree level) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an estimator in construction.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detailed understanding of construction contracts, particularly Design & Build.
  • Proficient management and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work closely with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
  • Advanced computer proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct site visits.
  • Familiarity with Bespoke Joinery and on-site Joinery activities.
