They are now looking for a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer to join their engineering team based in Edinburgh. You will work as part of their team to deliver technical solutions on a variety of projects. Projects range from high industrial structures to historic listed buildings. They have several core clients that they continually provide engineering solutions for and you will be required to become a key part of the team to deliver a high-quality service to their clients.

This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with knowledge & expertise in structural steel and concrete but with a keen interest in design & temporary works. This would be suitable for engineers alike from both a design consulting and contracting background.

Senior Civil Structural Engineer Responsibilities

Main responsibilities of the role are:

• Design of steel and reinforced concrete structures in accordance with Eurocodes for predominantly industrial infrastructure.
• Produce temporary works designs for our inhouse contracting business.
• Prepare inspection scopes and produce survey reports from site investigations.
• Carry out site surveys when required.
• Monitor and mentor graduate engineers and trainee technicians.

Senior Civil Structural Engineer Requirements

• Proficient in the use of structural design software i.e. Autodesk Robot, Tekla Tedds etc.
• Good time management to deliver calculations and reports to project deadlines.
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the UK construction industry.
• Experience in temporary and civil contractor design portions would be preferred.
• Excellent communication skills liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Team player to become an integral part of the engineering team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Chartered or working towards chartership – support will be provided for the successful candidate to attain chartered status if not already chartered.

Salary is up to £60,000 pa (depending on experience).
