Title: Multiskilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Job Overview:

STEM Recruitment Solutions are delighted to be partnering with our client based in Midlothian operating in the printing industry. Our client is looking for a Multiskilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join their team on a permanent basis. This job is Monday-Friday and operates on a dayshift and nightshift basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly respond to breakdowns
  • Diagnose and fix equipment faults
  • Maintain safety standards during repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Assist in scheduling maintenance tasks
  • Manage spare parts inventory
  • Document maintenance activities
  • Help improve equipment performance
  • Install and commission new equipment
  • Keep work areas clean and safe

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Basic electrical skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with good time management
  • Clear communication skills
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Flexible schedule and adaptable to different tasks

Essential Experience:

  • Experience within mechanical engineering
  • Working in a production/FMCG environment

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with printing equipment
  • Safe working knowledge of electrical equipment
  • Proficiency in metal removal and fabrication equipment

Hours:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Rotating shifts: 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm
