Aqua-Tech have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our Technical Services Team. In this position, you will be responsible for scoping and detailed design through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards.

The primary role of the post holder is to lead a team of process, mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver designs, documentation and assist with procurement for pump station / treatment systems etc.  Interaction will be required with the client and local teams at site as well as predominantly in the office. The post holder will be responsible for assisting in preparing estimates and quotations and completing contract documents. The post holder will also assist in production of risk assessments and method statements.  They will manage the workflow through to the client and undertake design deliverables personally as required. A background in specification of treatment systems and process engineering is preferred as supporting calculations will be required for many designs. These designs can be for industrial or municipal treatment in clean and waste water environments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Specify and if possible undertake treatment and fluid transmission designs, including design calculations/pump selections etc
  • Carry out site surveys if required
  • Project liaison with the team to take design to construction on site with final acceptance and documentation
  • Liaise with delivery PM’s, sub-contractors and Client’s personnel
  • Ensure process calculations and designs are delivered, assisting where possible
  • Assist specification of treatment equipment as required for the project

Key competencies, Skills, Experience and/or Training Requirements:

Essential:

  • Good knowledge of Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety processes/procedures
  • Previous experience/knowledge of the water/wastewater sector
  • Strong problem solving and team leadership capability
  • Degree/HND/HNC Process Engineering or equivalent preferable
  • Knowledge of Process, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines
  • Good time management 
  • Ability to follow/interpret/explain technical instructions
  • Knowledge of the process equipment required in Industrial and also municipal settings

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Full clean driving licence
  • CSCS
  • Confined Space entry
  • Electrical Safety Rules
  • DOMS
  • National Water Hygiene
  • CAD proficient
