Air Personnel are looking for a Compliance Lead

We are currently seeking a full time, permanent Compliance Lead. – Travel will be required as part of the role.

Purpose of the role:

This is an important role in maintaining and continuously improving  compliance performance and maintaining standards for Pt.145, Pt.147, Pt.21J, Pt.CAMO, Ground and Flight Operations.  Leads the implementation of policies and procedures, supervising and supporting the engineering and operational requirements.  

Requires high motivation, safety consciousness, working effectively within a disciplined regional team, with the competence to make decisions from own initiative. 

Must have a background in Aviation Engineering or Flight Operations, be a good communicator, have a broad understanding of aviation regulations, experience in conducting auditing both internally and externally, and be expected to travel within the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Manage Engineering and Operational components of the Compliance Management System, including management of audit programmes, internal auditing, and subcontractor control processes.
  2. Coordinate with multiple AOCs, including flight operations, maintenance, safety, and training departments, to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  3. Manage the audits and inspections at various company locations and AOCs to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Serve as the focal point for Engineering and Ops related issues coordinating with the Senior Management within Pt.CAMO, Pt.147, Pt.145, Pt.21, Flight, and Ground Operations as required to disseminate information and feedback and tracking.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to streamline compliance processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  6. Ensure the effective investigation of Engineering and Operations incidents and near misses, with a focus on preventive and corrective actions, coordinating with HR to ensure effective case management.
  7. Participating in all company Management of Change projects to ensure the impact across the organisation is fully identified and meets regulatory requirements.
  8. Oversee the collection, analysis and reporting of Engineering and Operational trends reported through the Safety systems, such as ASRs, GSRs, MSRs, accident reports and shared information from other regions.
  9. To co-ordinate the company audit program ensuring quality and consistency of audit reporting, and effective root cause. Monitor findings and observations to identify trends and repeat findings and ensuring effective closer.
  10. To monitor the engineering authorisation database by providing quality oversight to ensure providence of the database is maintained.
  11. To ensure all Regulatory changes are captured within audit scope and disseminated to all Senior Management where applicable.
  12. Coordinate the department travel to ensure efficiency.
  13. Write and develop Service Level Agreements between various AOCs in relation to Safety & Compliance activities.
  14. Support and contribute to the company Safety Management System

Technical requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the aviation sector
  • Minimum 2 years as an Auditor (Operations or Engineering)
  • Detailed knowledge/understanding of regulations with the ability to develop and communicate proposed amendments
  • Detailed understanding of Compliance Management System requirements
  • 3 or more years of supervisory experience or leadership role with a willingness to develop skills further
  • Experience with subcontractor control processes
  • Experience in technical writing

Qualifications

  • Desirable - recognised academic qualification undergraduate level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline which includes behavioral sciences and or Human Factors Investigation
  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • Incident/Accident investigation training and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
