Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Inverness

Our Client, is one of the key contractors appointed to undertake essential works across Scotland. With a Project Budget exceeding £5 billion over 12 years, this project supports construction, engineering, and employment while focusing on skills and development opportunities for early-career professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and negotiate subcontract documentation, terms, conditions, prices, and schedules.
  • Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Issue commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required by contract terms.
  • Manage contract changes and produce Compensation Event Quotations.
  • Submit and agree monthly applications with the client.
  • Ensure site records are maintained to required standards.
  • Track and forecast expenditure, including detailed schedules of subcontractor liabilities.
  • Interpret and evaluate internal cost system reports.
  • Complete monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports.
  • Attend weekly progress and early warning meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Maximize value and profit by adhering to 'Doing the right thing' principles.

About You:

  • Experience in a Civil Engineering environment with a main contractor, knowledgeable in NEC Conditions of Contract.
  • Professional Qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
  • Experience with large single or multiple smaller schemes.
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contract.
  • Proficient in IT, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle, Unifier).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of construction processes.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor and support other commercial team members.
  • Professional qualification such as MCICES or MRICS, or working towards full membership.
