Lift Service Engineer
Pickerings Lifts is a national, well established, privately owned, independent, leading lift specialist with 170 years’ experience. Due to continued success and growth, we require Lift Service Engineers to cover various local working routes based in regions across the UK.
Applicants should ideally be time served or NVQ L3 Lift Engineers with lift experience and be willing to undertake callout duties. You will also have good customer service and organisation skills and be able to work on your own initiative. A full driving licence is essential. Competitive salary (dependent on qualifications and experience) + standby allowance + overtime + call out + quarterly bonus.
Main duties of the Lift Service Engineer will include
- Carry out routine servicing, call outs and minor repairs, within a service route area, on all types of electrical and hydraulic goods, passenger and service lifts.
- To complete maintenance schedules in accordance with agreed Service Contracts
- Complete worksheets using company and customer systems.
- Participate in an out of hours on-call rota.
- Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times.

Person Specification for the Lift Service Engineer
- Ideally hold NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline.
- Be self-motivated, have great customer service skills and have the ability to show a high standard of workmanship whilst working under minimum supervision.
- Must hold a valid driving licence.
- DBS Checks will be carried out due to the nature of some of customer sites.
- Some computer knowledge – as you will be required to use customer log on systems and company electronic devices.
- Prepared to participate in callout duties as part of the nightcall rota team.
- Be able to work as a team.
- Good communication skills are required.
