Enable, established in 1954, is one of the fastest growing human rights charities in the UK and one of the 40 largest non-public sector employers in Scotland, employing 2,500 staff, with 12,000 members and supporters, and actively supporting over 13,000 people to live independently as active citizens in their local communities. Enable Works, the employability arm of Enable, is the largest specialist provider of employability, skills and training services in Scotland. Our goal is to create a more equitable society where everyone has fair and equal opportunities to gain and sustain employment.

Enable Works believes in providing every individual in Scotland with the opportunity to have a high-quality, well-paid career. They support over 7000 people annually across 29 Scottish Local Authorities to acquire skills for employment and move about 1000 people into work every year. Their client interactions occur in various settings, including schools, universities, and the community. Enable Works collaborate with thousands of employers each year, to foster inclusive cultures and enhance Scotland's workforce diversity. They are driven to challenge perceptions of disability and unlock potential.

Why Enable Works is needed

Disabled individuals face significant employment barriers and are underrepresented in Scotland's workforce. The Disability Employment Gap in Scotland stands at 31.2%, the highest in the UK. For those with learning disabilities, the employment rate is estimated to be as low as 4%.

Even when employed, disabled individuals encounter significant disadvantages, earning only 83p for every pound earned by non-disabled peers. Enable Works aims to change this by ensuring everyone capable and desiring to work receives the support and opportunities necessary to achieve the career of their choice.

The Role

Enable Works are looking for a Performance Manager to join their dynamic team. As a Performance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success and quality of Enable Works’ contracts within your designated region. This role is key to maintaining Enable Work’s reputation for delivering an exceptional, high-quality service for their clients and ensuring maximum impact of their programs.

This role demands a dynamic leader who can foster positive professional relationships with both staff teams and program partners, ensuring that their services consistently meet high standards. Responsible for performance management, and ensuring quality standards and compliance, you will guide a team of Employment Coordinators and support staff to excel.

Driven to meet and surpass contractual targets, you will actively engage with your team in the community and offer targeted coaching. You will oversee the accurate forecasting of outcomes, quality management, and compliance, all while cultivating professional relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to innovate, motivate, and manage will directly contribute to the growth and sustainability of contracts, ensuring that performance expectations are not only met, but exceeded.
