Our client is responsible for the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) maintenance of one of the UK's leading banks property portfolio, ensuring a highly efficient engineering maintenance function critical to the Client’s operations and the achievement of 100% uptime.
The portfolio includes on-floor critical environments, office spaces, IT-critical environments, and satellite support offices within the main cluster locations across the UK.
Job Description
As an Engineering Supervisor, you will manage the engineering staff, oversee the allocation of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works, and ensure the effective delivery of both reactive and planned maintenance services.
Working as part of a 24/5 shift team, with additional coverage on weekends from 06:00 to 14:00, you will also coordinate and oversee specialist subcontractor support, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance tasks are executed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering staff and allocate PPMs and reactive works to ensure effective maintenance
- Oversee and escort specialist sub-contractors performing planned and reactive maintenance and other M&E tasks
- Ensure adherence to safe systems of work procedures (ICE)
- Maintain infrastructure to ensure all critical facilities within the portfolio remain fully operational, achieving 100% SLA uptime
- Mitigate risks by understanding Critical Environment Works Authorisation documents, Critical Device Operation (CDO) SOPs, Building Engineering Simulation Training (BEST), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP)
- Train to become an LV Authorised Person (Electrical) for the portfolio, with potential training as HVAP if suitable
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, ownership, and technical skills to support portfolio operations
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Substantial intermediate experience working within M&E building maintenance
- Substantial intermediate experience in a Data Centre / Critical Environment
- Demonstrate experience & understanding of current Health & Safety
- Demonstrate management experience of working in Blue Chip Environment
- BTEC certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or
- City & Guilds certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- City & Guilds Electrical discipline competency Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent
- 17th Edition IEE Regulations
- Comprehensive building services knowledge in similar environments to a minimum of HVAC standards
- Critical Environment Experience
- Good Customer relationship skills
- Working knowledge of “Permit to work” systems
- Understand and interpret technical drawings/processes
- Willingness to become HV Appointed and to switch both HV and LV systems
