Job summary/PurposeThe Adoptions arm of our regional Technical teams are responsible for ensuring all the intended infrastructure that connects a new development is installed to enable a community to thrive. From roads to sewers and all the utilities you expect from a modern, functional dwelling, our engineers are a vital part of ensuring each home meets and exceeds our customers’ expectations. The role of the Senior Adoptions Engineer is to provide technical support at all stages of the development process with particular emphasis on those beyond site completion, from initial viability input to full design as-built review packages, gaining vesting/ adoption certification alongside providing advice to all other departments and selected contractors at key stages through to full and final close site closeout. You will need a thorough knowledge of engineering as a discipline and be very familiar with the associated regulatory requirements for a residential build. You will need to be a shrewd negotiator as you navigate various complex technical aspects of site close out. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of the evolution of Adoptions within Taylor Wimpey as we continue to ensure all commitments to our customers are met.
Primary Responsibilities- Prepare site viability input in line with current regulatory requirements for residential developments vesting/adoption.
- Provide engineering expertise in resolving engineering issues as part of the vesting/adoption process for all Taylor Wimpey sites across Scotland.
- Ensure compliance at all stages of each submission in line with the latest standards.
- Work with statutory bodies to ensure all approval conditions for sites are met & infrastructure is timeously handed over
- Work on tenders and engineering documentation and oversee H&S for works beyond the habitation of final plot.
- Be on site and attend all relevant meetings relating to the completion and sign-off of site infrastructure over the life cycle of development.
- Provide solutions to the challenge of reverse engineering strategic site issues which are unique to the back-end stage of development.
