SRG are delighted to be partnered with an innovative biotechnology company based in the Greater Glasgow area in their search for a technician to join their Peptide synthesis Team.

This organisation are revolutionising the agricultural industry by developing innovative pest control solutions which are eco-friendly and are specifically tailored to clear selected pests from crops whilst being non-toxic to other species.

Following on from a successful batch of field trials they are now looking to expand their team based in Glasgow to facilitate greater production and ensure product quality.

The role

As a peptide synthesis technician you will join the organisation's R&D unit, specifically, the peptide chemistry team to assist in the synthesis and purification of bespoke, custom peptides. You will also play a role in ensuring the quality of peptides using a variety of analytical methods (e.g. HPLC, LC-MS).

You will work with the wider organisation and technical manager to ensure reagent stocks & the peptide inventory is maintained.

The right person

  • Demonstrable practical experience in a peptide synthesis laboratory (industrial or academic)
  • Proficiency with analytical tools such as HPLC/LC-MS
  • Relevant qualification in chemistry/organic chemistry
