A prominent leader in engineering solutions within the Oil & Gas, Renewables, and Marine sectors is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an essential part of a high-performing engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and mentor a team of design engineers, managing product development from concept through to launch. Working on a diverse product portfolio, you’ll play a key role in ensuring designs meet customer specifications and industry standards while optimising for cost and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide the design engineering team in product development, cost optimisation, and meeting customer specifications.
• Provide technical support across departments, including Sales, Production, and the wider engineering team.
• Produce technical reports, 3D CAD models, and detailed drawings, and conduct structural analyses using FEA, CFD, and relevant tools.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across product design and development processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Required:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, with 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced engineering environment within Oil & Gas, Renewables, or Advanced Composites.
  • Experience leading design projects and mentoring engineers, with strong technical skills in FEA, CAD, and product development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with client-facing experience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Orcaflex
