Salary: £23,650 pro rata (£12.13 p/h equivalent)
Contract: Part time, Permanent

Their Supported Accommodation services offer people with long-term mental ill health the opportunity to live independently in their houses and access daily support, both practical and emotional, from their staff.
In Glasgow they operate a house in the Carntyne area which caters for individual and shared living with 24 hour accessible support from a committed team of their staff. Please note that given this is a 24 hour service, Mental Health and Wellbeing Workers (Peer) will be required to work regular sleepover shifts.
The Role
Mental Health & Wellbeing Workers (Peer) work in small collaborative teams to provide people with recovery focused support to enhance their mental wellbeing. In line with the organisation’s values, Mental Health & Wellbeing Workers (Peer) assist people who use the service to work towards their individual outcomes and identified goals, as detailed in their personal plan.
As a Mental Health & Wellbeing Worker (Peer), you truly will have the ability to influence what they do, developing and implementing your ideas to showcase what you can achieve, which will make a difference to the people they support.
Peer workers use their lived experience of mental health challenges to assist others in living a meaningful and fulfilling life in the community. Your unique knowledge and understanding gained from managing your own mental health challenges will all be called upon; they recognize and value how transferable and insightful learning from previous life experiences can be. With passion, and compassion, you will bring creativity and positivity to finding ways to reach out and empower people.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist people who use the service to work toward their identified goals, and move towards a brighter future as per the agreed personal plan.
- Use their Recovery tools (e.g. I.ROC, HOPE toolkit).
- Assist with personal care when required.
- Update and maintain relevant recording systems, including computer-based systems.
- Meet regularly with other team members to review progress, approach concerns and plans for moving forward.
- Assist in project work as required.
- Work in cooperation with colleagues, and staff from other agencies.
- Work in accordance to their policies and procedures.
- Work effectively with other members of the team, and liaise effectively with families, agencies, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Participate in training activities and meetings as required.
- Uphold their Code of Practice.
- Register with the SSSC as appropriate and maintain post-registration training and learning log to meet ongoing registration requirements.
- Other duties deemed appropriate to this grade, as and when required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Good level of educational attainment.
- Experience of being in a supportive and enabling role.
- Core IT skills and ability to input data, basic word processing, manage emails and electronic diary.
- Builds good working relationships with team members.
- Works co-operatively with other professionals as required.
- Is aware of own strengths and development needs.
- Demonstrates commitment to keeping knowledge, understanding and skills up to date.
- Speaks and writes clearly and accurately and ensures the message is understood.
- Explains clearly and accurately issues, policies, procedures and other pertinent information.
- Conveys sensitive or contentious information tactfully.
