Job Description
The Fire Door Remedial Works Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring fire safety compliance by conducting fire door surveys, performing remedial works, and completing installations to the highest standards.
This work is carried out in alignment with the BM Trada Q Mark scheme, serving a variety of client properties within the designated region.
The role underscores our client's commitment to providing world-class building services maintenance, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for Fire Door PPM, remedial repairs, and installation works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames to exceed customer expectations
- Provide accurate remedial quotations
- Occasionally assist with other carpentry/joinery works as instructed
- Ensure that all Fire Doors operate to specified performance criteria
- Provide a professional service and represent the company to ensure customer satisfaction
- Take a proactive approach to client liaison, addressing concerns or relaying them to management as needed
- Maintain full awareness of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times
- Ensure timely completion of administrative requirements and maintain accurate documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with H&S regulations, risk assessment, COSHH, and related requirements
- Suggest improvements and innovations to enhance the service provided
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- NVQ/City & Guilds in carpentry, woodworking, or related trade qualification, or time-served carpentry and joinery experience
- Recognised craft apprenticeship preferred
- Must be IT literate
- Full UK Driving License
- Significant experience in Fire Door Surveys, maintenance, and door set installations/replacements
- Significant previous experience in providing PPM building services maintenance
- Experience working within FM or building services in commercial properties
- Experience working under strict Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements
