Overview

As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will support our Warehouse manager to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our warehouse facility. Ensuring that an excellent customer customer experience is delivered throughout the supply chain, you will make sure that your team have the right training, support, and resources to perform their roles to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Our Team Leaders have responsibility for overseeing the performance of their team, and supporting the Warehouse Manager with performance and attendance management. In addition to this, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate warehouse team to determine staffing levels and assign workload.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of warehouse activities.
  • Measure and manage individual performance and productivity.
  • Monitory, record and track progress towards company KPIs.
  • Manage and review H&S standards throughout the warehouse – maintain cleanliness, report faults and arrange maintenance.
  • Stock management – receiving and checking deliveries; picking stock to fulfil orders; accurate and secure storage of stock; loading vans; stock-takes.
  • Oversee despatch of orders and coordinate deliveries.
  • Assist in offloading shipping containers, ensuring stock is palletised and stacked correctly and securely.
  • Face-to-face customer support (e.g. deliveries, loading stock into vehicles).

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be a confident and motivated person with a natural ability to lead and coach a team. Our Team Leaders should be/have:

  • Strong communication skills: able to clearly explain processes to the team, and address any issues clearly and confidently
  • Great problem-solving ability: not only identifying problems, but also finding solutions to them, and not being afraid to make changes when needed
  • KPI driven: you know your targets and what you and the team need to do to achieve them
  • High attention to detail: you know the standards expected of you and you meet them, ensuring corners aren't cut
