Job Description

Engineering Manager โ€“ Shiplift Safetyย 

Join our Design Authority (DA) team as Engineering Manager overseeing the Shiplift Safety Justification Plan (SJP). You'll lead safety case production, manage engineering workstreams, and ensure safe delivery of Ship lift programmes through to end-of-life.

๐Ÿ”ง What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Lead the Shiplift Safety Justification Plan (SJP) ๐Ÿ“˜

  • Manage engineering inputs across all Ship lift programmes โš™๏ธ

  • Guide Safety Case & Design Engineers ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the project lifecycle ๐Ÿค

  • Promote safety, compliance, and best practices

  • Strong engineering leadership in safety-critical environments

  • Experience in safety case management and stakeholder engagement

  • Knowledge of Design Authority responsibilities & standards

Qualifications

โœ… Essential Skills & Experience

  • ๐ŸŽ“ Degree in Engineering or a related field

  • ๐Ÿ… Chartered Engineer (or working towards it with solid CPD)

  • ๐Ÿ“˜ Strong knowledge of nuclear regulatory complianceย 

๐ŸŒŸ Desirable Experience

  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ In-depth knowledge of Design Authority (DA) roles & nuclear safety cases

  • ๐Ÿ“‹ Project engineering & site integration

  • ๐Ÿ” Technical assurance and compliance with industry legislation

  • ๐Ÿงพ Authoring technical reports, specs, and queries

  • ๐Ÿง  Experience in regulated environments

  • ๐Ÿค Stakeholder engagement across disciplines

  • ๐Ÿฆบ Basic H&S training for site work

  • ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Mentoring and supervising engineers

  • ๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Organised, detail-oriented, with top-tier written & verbal communication

Additional Information

Predominantly WFH.ย  Monthly travel to site for some key meetings etc is required.

Sole UK National, SC clearance required to startย
