As the Control of Contractors Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective management of all subcontractor activity across impressive and well-maintained client sites.

Job Description

Reporting in a matrix structure to the Site Maintenance Managers, you will take ownership of the work authorisation and permit-to-work processes. You'll be responsible for ensuring all required governance, documentation, and control measures are in place before work begins.

You’ll implement a proactive and diligent approach to contractor governance, ensuring that subcontractor activity is carried out safely and in a controlled manner at all times. This includes strict adherence to security escorting guidelines and client protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all subcontractor works ensuring adherence to work authorisation and permit processes
  • Escort and monitor subcontractors onsite, ensuring security protocols are followed
  • Review and manage subcontractor documentation including risk assessments
  • Coordinate subcontractor bookings and support compliance with site-specific processes
  • Assist engineering team with logbooks, compliance checks, and site access arrangements
  • Perform ad-hoc site inspections to maintain safety and standards
  • Support overall engineering operations with administrative and compliance-related tasks

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role with strong M&E knowledge and statutory compliance awareness
  • IOSH Managing Safely and ideally NEBOSH qualified (or working towards)
  • Proven success managing subcontractors safely and effectively
  • Skilled at building positive relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, reactive environments
  • Strong communication skills with a confident, proactive approach
  • Committed to high safety and operational standards
