Job Description

As Sous Chef, reporting to the Lead Food Architect, you will lead the craft team day-to-day, collaborating with the service team to deliver exciting, exceptional, and inspirational culinary experiences.

You will manage the daily shift operations, ensuring food safety and aligning with both customer and company expectations. With your creative flair, passion for food, and keen awareness of culinary trends, you will inspire excellence.

Exceptional organisational and communication skills, combined with your showmanship and dedication, will help shape a memorable food journey for everyone who steps into our space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Food Ambassador in delivering the Campus food strategy.
  • Oversee daily food and drink service, ensuring high standards and efficiency.
  • Lead and inspire the team through daily briefings and hands-on support.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver engaging campus events.
  • Ensure all food and drink leaving the kitchen meets quality specifications.
  • Maintain audit readiness across health, safety, finance, and food standards.
  • Gather and act on customer feedback to improve service and experience.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • SCQF Level 8 or equivalent professional cookery qualification.
  • Experience in high-end catering or fast casual food service.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on operational and service excellence.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • IT literate with experience in kitchen systems and reporting tools.
  • Innovative and proactive in leading within a dynamic team.
  • Able to identify and resolve issues to exceed client expectations.
