The HR Booth are delighted to be recruiting for a CNC Operator on behalf of Haldane (UK).

Role Summary:
We are looking for a skilled CNC Operator to join our production team and operate the SCM Hypsos universal 5-axis machining centre. This role is critical in producing complex, curved, and high-precision timber components that meet the exacting standards of our luxury clientele.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the SCM Hypsos 5-axis CNC machine to produce bespoke timber components.
  • Interpret CAD/CAM files, technical drawings, and work instructions to execute machining operations.
  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials with precision and efficiency.
  • Monitor machining processes and make real-time adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to optimise machining strategies and reduce lead times.
  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure the machine operates at peak performance.
  • Uphold Haldane’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and health & safety standards.
 
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience operating 5-axis CNC machining centres, ideally within a timber or joinery environment.
  • Familiarity with SCM Hypsos or similar CNC systems.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CNC programs.
  • Experience with Maestro Active CNC interface is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
 
Desirable:
  • Background in bespoke joinery, furniture making, or architectural woodwork.
  • Understanding of timber properties and machining techniques.
 
 What we offer:
  • Competitive Salary, Hourly Rate: DOE
  • Hours of Work: Mon -Thurs 07:30 – 16:30, Friday 07:30 – 12.30.  
  • Overtime will be required when necessary.
  • Overtime paid at 1.5 times the basic rate
  • Holidays: 255 Hours per annum (includes Bank holidays)
