Our client is one of the UK’s most prominent Outsourced Procurement Specialists and due to business growth are looking to recruit experienced Home / Field Based Account Managers in Scotland.

The role of the Account Manager is to drive business growth across an established regional client base and develop new business opportunities across our full-service offering.  The individual will be responsible for the delivery of a personal new business target.

This client facing role requires individuals with solid business development skills in an asset, maintenance, or a housing environment, along with an understanding of public sector procurement regulations. The role requires someone who can proactively build trust-based relationships with senior level stakeholders and implement lasting solutions within our client organisations, predominantly within the public sector.

The post holder will also be required to maintain regional relationships with supply chain partners working collaboratively to develop new business opportunities.

The role will report directly to the Commercial Manager (Scotland), with operational support provided from colleagues across the wider business.  You must be a self-motivated individual with drive and determination to effectively manage your own workload to achieve outstanding results for our clients.

A key element will be to achieve sales and retention targets in line with an ambitious business growth strategy.  To deliver this successfully the individual will be required to drive growth through greater penetration of existing accounts, establishing deeper, broader relationships, whilst also achieving growth in new accounts.

 Duties:

  • To strategically manage multiple member accounts within a defined geographical territory.
  • To deliver the sales targets associated to new business revenue growth through effective sales planning and implementation.
  • Focus on growth across your account base – new business performance and retention of existing business.
  • Develop deep stakeholder relationships across the regional account base, mitigating risk and developing high value opportunities.
  • To understand the customers diverse business needs and apply product knowledge to meet these needs.
  • Support the Commercial Manager in agreeing marketing and communication plans with the internal marketing function and external agencies to support business growth.
  • Develop and nurture positive working relationships with key clients, influential consultants, and business partners.
  • Leverage existing supplier/contractor relationships to drive and maximise new business.
  • Consistently maintain high standards of data accuracy within CRM
  • Identify and develop new business through effective networking, campaigns, and direct member activity within Scotland.
  • Prepare and effectively deliver customer presentations and demonstrations.
  • Utilise data sources available to create and action specific targeted activity.
  • Sustain effective working relationships with internal colleagues to ensure we deliver a positive experience for our customers.
  • Undertake such training as may be reasonably required to maintain an appropriate level of technical competence for the post

Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Proven success of new business sales in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Proven success in a sales targeted environment.
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • A sound understanding of the value of procurement and experience of value-based selling.
  • Confident negotiator with the ability to develop and close solution-based opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills in all environments.
  • Experience and success of sales/account management in the social housing or the wider public-sector client base
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Full driving licence.
