£50,000 - £60,000/annum pension, sick pay, 34 days holiday

Our client, a successful spin out from Edinburgh university has recently received significant investment to help develop their technology and is now looking to hire an experienced project manager to support the growth of the business. Having already added key individuals to the team the project manager will have an overall understanding of what the business is looking to achieve, how business works, understanding strategy and supporting the organisation to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities to include:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and milestones.
    • Designing and building project management system.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
    • Oversee project execution, monitoring progress against plan, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and updates.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to ensure team cohesion and alignment towards project goals.
  3. Resource Management:
    • Manage project resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
    • Allocate resources based on project priorities and constraints, optimising efficiency and productivity.
    • Identify resource gaps or bottlenecks and propose solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project continuity.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact.
    • Proactively monitor project risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing risk response plans as necessary.
    • Anticipate and address any challenges or obstacles that may arise, keeping projects on track and within scope.
  5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices throughout project execution.
    • Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory affairs teams to maintain compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
    • Implement quality control measures to uphold product integrity and reliability.

This is a ‘science’ business however they aren’t looking for a scientist but an exceptional project manager to lead multiple projects to conclusion. It is essential that you are an experienced project manager and experienced project manager practitioner with strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, with certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, SCRUM) preferred.

This is a hybrid role however you should live within commutable distance from Edinburgh.
