Data Centre Manager

Full Time

£45,000 - £48,000 per year

This DCM role encompasses all the aspects of operating and running a best in class DC and leading a team who are passionate about their roles, DC and their clients. The DCM is expected to be onsite to achieve the best possible results for their team and client.

The DCM is responsible for all aspects of people management and leadership of all Data Centre Services (DCS), Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) team members onsite. In addition, they are responsible for ensuring that Health & Safety, security, repairs, maintenance, Opex and Capex budget and the commercial development of the Data Centre adhere to company and departmental policies and reporting of all aspects of site operation are clear, accurate and timely. All certifications must be maintained to ensure they are current and fully compliant.

Any works undertaken by 3rd Parties are under the authority of the DCM and must follow all due processes and approvals.


Duties:


* Ensure that the site operates strictly in accordance with health and safety and security procedures including all relevant compliance accreditation's and the environment is maintained safely for all employees, contractors, clients, and suppliers as per company procedures.


* Co-ordinate, schedule and manage the resourcing of the team, including ensuring relevant shift, holiday, sickness, or other absence cover is carefully planned ensuring continuity of 24 x 7 operations.


* Recommendations for site budget proposals in line with agreed procedures and operate appropriate controls to ensure that expenditure is in line with budget and authorisation processes


* Manage all maintenance procedures and contracts with internally and with specialist subcontractors. Work with Regional Head of Data Centres and Supplier Management to ensure service contract reviews are negotiated to meet service requirement and best value for money


* Manage and own all the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for site, working with specialist subcontractors to ensure this is carried out on time and within budget.


* Drive the highest levels of energy efficiency (PUE) and best practice within the DC Halls optimising the cooling through containment, airflow, blanking and client equipment installation. Input to the Regional Head and M&E leaders in terms of other opportunities for improvement in terms of power and cooling infrastructure etc




Special Conditions:

* This role requires some out of hours working and participation as part of an On Call Rota
* The role may involve some travel between sites (depending on location)
