Our client, a distinguished principal specialist contractor in rail overhead line electrification, is on a mission to revolutionise transport. Through innovative installations of overhead powerlines and procedures, they are committed to fostering a more environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and safer rail sector. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager on a permanent basis based in the West of Scotland.

As the Assistant Project Manager, you'll be a crucial part of the organisation's operational structure, focusing on delivering works to the highest standards from design through to handover.  Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll contribute to maintaining the excellent reputation our client has worked hard to achieve.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide robust leadership and guidance to site staff across live projects, ensuring correct project staffing.
  • Coordinate projects, ensuring they are on schedule to meet deadlines and run to client specifications.
  • Manage project development in accordance with approved plans and targets.
  • Undertake additional engineering roles when required.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Liaise with internal and external management to ensure project delivery aligns with client requirements from tender to final handover.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date project records.
  • Conduct periodic site audits and safety inspections.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should demonstrate:

  • Demonstrable experience at the Assistant Project Manager level.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the civil engineering sector, with rail and OLE project experience desirable.
  • Qualifications at the HNC/HND level as a minimum.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid PTS and OLEC competencies.
