About the Role: As the Data Centre Manager, you will take ownership of all aspects of DC operation, overseeing a team dedicated to excellence in service delivery. Your responsibilities will include managing people, maintaining health and safety standards, overseeing budgets, and driving commercial development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead by example, embodying our company values, and provide support, training, and guidance to your team.
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures and compliance standards.
• Coordinate team resources to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operations.
• Develop and manage site budgets, controlling expenditure and authorisations.
• Oversee maintenance procedures and contracts, optimising preventative maintenance schedules.
• Drive energy efficiency initiatives and best practices within the DC.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive new business opportunities.
• Monitor and improve service management processes and incident resolution.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Adapt responsibilities as needed and respond to changing organisational requirements.
• Handle confidential information in accordance with company policies.

Special Conditions:

• This role may require occasional out-of-hours work and participation in an on-call rota.
• Travel between sites may be necessary, depending on location.

Person Specification: Education & Qualifications:

• Degree level or equivalent in Data Centre management or relevant experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Desirable: Data Centre management certification (e.g., CDCMP), ITIL Foundation qualification.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a mission-critical Data Centre environment.
• Strong client-facing experience, including managing difficult situations.
• Experience in people management and budget oversight.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Technical understanding of data centre infrastructure.
• Knowledge of relevant UK regulatory standards (e.g., H&S legislation, ISO 27001, 14000, PCI).
