Pre Construction Project Coordinator

Our client, an established civil engineering contractor renowned for delivering high-quality projects, continues to thrive in the construction industry. Despite operating primarily as a main contractor, the company maintains a welcoming "family feel" and upholds the values of a traditional organisation.

Due to recent success in water frameworks, they are expanding their team by seeking a skilled Project Coordinator to join the estimating team in Glasgow. In this role, you will oversee the development projects from identifying needs to awarding construction contracts, ensuring the timely coordination of deliverables to meet agreed-upon goals.

The ideal applicant should have site experience as a senior engineer/sub agent or site agent and have the desire to work in a pre-construction team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and team members to achieve project goals
  • Coordinate workloads to ensure timely project completion
  • Manage design development projects within schedule and budget constraints
  • Provide weekly progress reports to management
  • Maintain and update records
  • Contribute to developing cost-effective solutions
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Review design risk assessments
  • Produce scope documentation promptly
  • Propose and/or develop value-engineered alternative solutions during the design phase
  • Obtain or provide pricing for estimating purposes
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and third parties as necessary

Successful candidates should possess:

  • HNC in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' site experience
  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior Engineer/Sub Agent specialising in water projects
  • Previous essential civil engineering experience
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies
  • Thorough understanding of engineering management and construction processes
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills
  • Valid CSCS and full UK driving license
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities
  • Site experience in the water sector is essential
