Sales Manager

The role

My client, one of the UK's largest, privately owned timber companies, are a family run business, driven by the desire to always do good. The role is within their Insulation branch of the business, and they are a high functioning, proactive, ambitious and driven Sales Manager with out of office customer visit and external sales experience to assist the company with continued growth, brining on new clients and maintaining current client relationships to a high standard. As part of this role, you'll be:

  • Meeting agreed budgeted sales targets for the Branch sales development plan.
  • Pricing - Ensures agreed pricing policy is applied to live enquires where future business can be obtained.
  • Continually monitor market price levels and report to Branch Manager and Business Manager.
  • Sets and review sales development plan to achieve business objectives with Branch Manager.
  • Recognise problems/poor sales performance and take steps to address it with Branch Manager.
  • Proactively maintain and support designated accounts.
  • Communicate our clients commitment to value added customer service.
  • Organise training for branch staff and review products and suppliers every quarter.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
  • Flexibility - the ability to adapt, change, prioritise and still deliver on the things that matter most is crucial.
  • Tact, discretion and good judgment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Skilled at providing pragmatic and commercial advice.
  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Proactive and able to use own initiative.
  • A strong desire to learn and develop.
  • Team play
